Rescuers of the Main Mobile Rapid Response Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine took part in the UK ISAR International Timber Shoring Course, a top-level international training program. The course was held in Liverpool (United Kingdom) and brought together search and rescue experts from all over the world.

The training program focused on improving practical skills in reinforcing emergency structures using wooden elements. This technology is critically important during search and rescue operations in collapsed areas and significantly damaged buildings, where every movement can cause further destruction.

During the course, participants practiced risk assessment algorithms, selection of reinforcement types, and rapid deployment of shoring systems in accordance with INSARAG international standards. Practical training was conducted in conditions close to real-life scenarios: rescuers worked in limited spaces, under extreme stress, and with restricted time for decision-making.

In addition to the technical component, the course became an important platform for strengthening international partnerships. Ukrainian rescuers, who have significant experience in dealing with the consequences of destruction, demonstrated a high level of training and professionalism while working side by side with their foreign colleagues.

Participation in such events is another step towards strengthening the professional capacity of the SESU in the field of emergency response and introducing best international practices for Ukrainian units.
